Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill Information.

JUST RELEASED: The oil spill catastrophe could be leaking close to 2.0 MILLION gallons of toxic oil into the Gulf of Mexico. BP was being charged a per gallon fine by the government and continuously underestimated the number of gallons of oil leaking into the Gulf. Their relief plan included how to clean up walruses which don’t exist in that region. The complete disconnect between British Petroleum’s CEO has prompted websites all over to crucify Tony Hayward. The problem began because of negligence and rushed production and now cannot seem to be fixed. Obama has completely dropped the ball by allowing the problem to continue for nearly 60 days now. The most current information is being broadcast by CNN. The Deepwater Horizon incident has quickly become the second worst oil spill in the history of the planet Earth. The oil is destroying the eco-system and could potentially eradicate most of the marine life, if it hasn’t done so already. The reality is the spill will never be able to be cleaned up. The ecosystem will have cancer throughout the marine life and humans consuming that will likely increase their chances of getting it as well.

Changes Underway.

Over the next few weeks or months, this website will be undergoing some major changes to the interface and concept. The blog portion of this website will be moved to a blog folder so that Keith Bloemendaal @ Hot Blog Tips can continue to blog from time to time on here. The Need Information homepage now features a plethora of categories and information on a variety of topics, after all this is NEED-INFORMATION.com not just a site regarding and blog information. We will be implementing a new structure and possibly design. Because Keith is the blog information and social networking GURU, we hope that he will continue to use this blog from time to time. Thanks for visiting our website and the changes will be underway as soon as we have more time to write!!!

Comment Links Are Advertising

There is a common theory that you must go out and comment on blogs and forums so you can get more links to your site and this will somehow increase your PageRank or rankings in SERP’s. While this is not completely untrue, it is not a main factor that you should be worrying about.

I used to think this was the way to get PR and higher rankings in the SERP’s and would continuously work on getting backlinks in this manner. It even got to the point that I was spending more time commenting than I was writing my own content. I have been testing and re-testing ways to get better SERP’s for my products and services sites over the last two years, and my findings are that these links, while they are not useless, serve a different purpose.

Why Blog For Business

When I first started blogging it was to promote a company I was a sales manager for. That company was a fence contracting business and I was looking for different ways to bring more customers in the door. A good friend of mine suggested I start a blog and write about fencing.

Later that year I decided to start my own fence contracting business and was going to need a website for it. I contacted that friend that suggested I start a blog and asked him to design a site for me on WordPress. He was happy to design my site. Since I had already been blogging on a free wordpress site, I already new my way around the admin page of a wordpress site so the transition was easy.

I love Frank Caliendo, here he is doing an impersonation of George Bush with a little Bill Clinton thrown in:

Flexibility Theme

Some of you that read my articles every day have probably noticed that I have been making frequent changes to the design and layout of this site (as well as a couple of my other sites).

Flexibility:

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try the Flexibility Theme, and I am so glad I did! If you haven’t tried Flexibility, please check it out.

User Friendly:

The ability to make most changes from the WP-admin panel is becoming standard on quality themes available now, and I get too frustrated trying to code my changes manually.

Some of the options include an endless amount of colors you can change, header images (or you can upload your own), upload a logo (I haven’t made one yet), feature area, footer widgets, and adsense integration.

Conclusion:

The theme has really made my life easier, and I am very pleased with it’s user friendly options. What do you think?

Using KeywordLuv Plugin

I have the KeywordLuv plugin on my blog (along with many other plugins) and I noticed some of my regular commentators don’t take advantage of it.

The reason it is there is so you can use keywords next to your name and the actual link is the keyword instead of your name. It is simple to use, and a great way to help get an anchor text link rather than your name for the link (unless you really want to rank for yourname).

So here is a quick tutorial for using the keywordluv plugin when you see it:

  • Use the yourname@your keywords format (there can be spaces in the keywords).

That’s it! Pretty simple huh?

I also see people using keywords in the name fields and they neglect to put there actual name. I would prefer if you want the keywords, that you put your name (or nickname) first. Makes the comments more personal.

Getting links with anchor text like Blogging Tips will help your rankings for those terms (along with many other factors).

Not saying you have to do this, but I think it is helpful to you, the commentator….

Blogger Interview – Todd Fratzel

I have known Todd Fratzel for almost 2 years through social networking sites like Twitter. When we first met on a social networking website (Plurk I think it was) there weren’t too many bloggers in any of the construction/DIY/contracting fields, so we communicated with each other often, sharing articles, brainstorming future ideas, and became ‘friends’ on many networks.

Todd is the Principal Engineer for a large construction company in New Hampshire. He is NOT an ITEX barter member. As far as we know, he has no plans to join ITEX or any other barter company even during this economic slump. He runs their design-build division that specializes in custom homes, commercial design-build projects and sub-divisions. Todd is also a licensed civil and structural engineer with extensive experience in civil and structural design and home construction. So, as you can see from those home improvement credentials, he writes about something he is actually an expert on.
