17 Must Have Wordpress Plugins

After I design a new site and upload my theme so I can see it on different browsers and am comfortable with it, the first thing I do with my Wordpress Do-Follow site, is start adding plugins.
I have compiled a list of 17 plugins I am currently using in Need-Information.com:
- Add to Any No matter what your favorite way of letting people “share” or bookmark your site, just make sure they can and it is easily accessible.
- Akismet: This is a must have, especially on Do-Follow sites. You will need a wordpress.com account to activate this plugin, but it is one of my favorites for catching spam comments.
- CommentLuv: This a great feature for your commentators because it leaves a link (do-follow on this blog) to the latest post of that commentator with the post title. I click on these a lot when I am commenting on other blogs (good reason to write catchy titles too!)
- Comment Reply Notification: This simply leaves an option for the commentor to receive email notifications if there are replies or other comments, great way to keep conversation going long after you hit the “publish” button. My thanks to Sire at WassupBlog for suggesting I add this plugin to my comments.
- Do-Follow: Want to encourage more comments? Then reward the commentors with some link juice! This plugin simply makes all comment links do-follow.
- Find Me On: This plugin allows you to enter the places you can be “found” like Twitter, Facebook, RSS Feeds, etc… Make yourself accessible to your readers, they will appreciate it.
- Keyword Love: This plugin allows your commentators to use yourname@yourkeyword structure in the “name” section of the comments and only links to the keyword giving the link anchor text.
- Platinum SEO Pack: Need help with some basic SEO functions on your site, get this plugin! Lots of goodies in this one.
- WP Related Posts: There are several similar plugins that go by tags etc… but get one to show links to other posts in the bottom of the article that relates somehow.
- Top Commentators: This one gives a Do-Follow (on this site it does!) link in the sidebar to your top commentators, make sure to eliminate your self from the list so you don’t waste a spot that should go to a deserving commentor!
- Tweet Meme Retweet: Get your post to viral by encouraging people to tweet/retweet it to their followers!
- Twitter Widget Pro: This plugin puts your Twitter stream in the sidebar.
- Ultimate Google Analytics: I like Google analytics, and this plugin automatically puts the UA code where it is supposed to be (great if you are not a pro coder!)
- viewMobile: This plugin makes your Wordpress site easily viewed on most mobile phones. Don’t leave your mobile readers out by expecting them to load a heavy site on their phones.
- WP.com Stats: I like to have instant stats in my dashboard and this one gives you some good basic stats on the fly.
- WP BlogEngage: If you are not using this Do-Follow social bookmarking site, then you should be! This plugin puts a “vote” button on every post so other “engagers” can vote your post up.
- WP Easy Uploader: This used to be more valuable than it is now since WP makes it easier to upload plugins and themes, but if you like to upload files without having to go to your FTP, this is great.
What do you think, did I miss some you use? Share with us in the Do-Follow comments, and if you like my post please vote for it on BlogEngage or Retweet for me (both are at top of post).

I’m a fan of quite a few of the plugins you’ve shared here. Akismet is a must, CommentLuv and Top Commentators are welcomed additions for commentators for sure, and I really like Find Me On and how it looks.
Regards,
Karl
Thanks Karl,
I have been lurking on your site, and really like it. Just haven’t had a chance to comment much yet. I did add you to my blogroll though as I think your content is an important read for anyone trying to blog or make money blogging, internet marketing etc…
Thanks for stopping by and for voting me up on BlogEngage too! Merry Christmas.
That really is great to hear. Well, you can be sure you’ll be seeing me around more often.
Have you played around with the other SEO plugins that are similar to the Platinum SEO plugin?
Karl
The only other one I used was All In One Seo, very similar and I think I started using Platinum SEO by accident and just stuck with it.
Anyone heard about google money pro programm? I accidently came accro this website author claims that this ebook can teach you to earn money with google adwords. What do you think is it real or no. Anyone bought it? I don’t want to loose money again. BTW sorry for offtopic!
here is website I neeed your opinion
Was very happy to find this site.I wanted to thank you for this good read!! I obviously happy every little bit of it and I have bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.
using the platinum plugin as well on my blog
its an awesome tool no need to reinvent the whole wheel…
I have a number of plugins on my blog. This is a good list.
I agree Matt, too many bloggers try so hard to find “secrets” to getting ranked, and the biggest one I can tell them is to be PATIENT!
Thanks Rose, please keep me updated how you are doing, you know my email, and thanks again for the retweets…
Thanks for the mention, and while there is a few there I wouldn’t mind giving a try, I first have to work out which ones to dump. I hate making these decisions. Thanks sooooo much Keith
I normally do not post comments but I just started using twitter and I am totally lost. Thanks for clearing some information for me. Looking forward to your next entry.
Nice collection mate. For me, Sexy Bookmarks replaces Tweetmeme and Add to Any. Btw, is Platinum SEO Pack better than All-in-One SEO plugin? All-in-One SEO is the most popular plugin right now.
Google XML Sitemap plugin is also a must for me
I will have to check into sexy bookmarks, I would still keep the tweetmeme because I like how it is really easy to see and use.
Used to use all in one SEO and I don’t really see much difference between the 2.
Thank you for the great list of plug-ins. I’m about to start up my first wordpress blog and I’m sure I will be using several of them.
I think keywordluv and commentluv are very important in two aspects. First you are going to get more relevant discussion and traffic on your blog and second you reward your reading for contributing to your site.
Add to Any: Using Bookmarkify instead.
Akismet: Have it
CommentLuv: Have it
Comment Reply Notification: Should get it.
Do-Follow: Have it
Find Me On: This plugin allow
Keyword Love: Not seeing the need. People can put keywords into the Name box if they like.
Platinum SEO Pack: I like the fact you can modify a URL, and it 302 redirects to the new URL.
WP Related Posts: Using YARPP instead, I like it’s flexibility.
Top Commentators: Have it. I changed “Commentators” to “Commenters”.
Tweet Meme Retweet: Getting it soon.
Twitter Widget Pro: Hmm.
Ultimate Google Analytics: I’m using locally-hosted analytics instead of Google’s.
viewMobile: Don’t need it because I’m using YUI for the template with 100% width. Resizes (and reflows) easily to about 480px or so, which is the width of many phones.
WP.com Stats: Interesting. Another one like that is wpwp.
WP BlogEngage:
WP Easy Uploader: Hmm. I don’t really upload themes all the time, so I’m good without it.
Thank’s for sharing this info. This is very helpful and informative material. Good post and keep it up.
